  • Displacement is the swept volume of every cylinder — the space the piston travels from BDC to TDC.
  • CID = (π ÷ 4) × bore² × stroke × cylinders. Liters and cc follow from the cubic-inch total.
  • Overbores and stroker cranks both raise displacement; bore changes scale with the square of diameter.
