Privacy Policy

What Torquely collects, what it does not, and how Google Analytics and ads cookies work.

Last updated 22 August 2026.

1. Who we are

This policy is for Torquely (https://torquely.net), a free set of automotive calculators published independently from Australia.

2. What the site does

Torquely is a free, no-account website. You enter numbers (tire size, torque, bore, and so on) and the page calculates a result in your browser. There is no login, no payment, and no customer database of builds.

3. Information we collect

What we do not collect

  • No accounts, passwords, or user profiles
  • No payment or credit-card data
  • No contact lists, precise GPS, or uploaded photos of your vehicle
  • Calculator inputs are not sent to our servers to produce a result, and are not used to train AI models

Data you type into a calculator

Values stay in the page unless your browser stores a copy as a first-party preference cookie (so a reload does not reset the last tire size or unit you used). We do not receive those numbers as a form submission.

Analytics

In production we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-TFMXSBLE1F) to see which tools are used, in aggregate: page views, device type, referrer, country-level location, and similar events. This is not used to identify you by name.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to fund the site. Google and its partners may set cookies or use advertising identifiers to serve ads, including personalized ads based on visits to this site and others. See How Google uses data on partner sites and Google Ads Settings to opt out of personalized ads.

Hosting logs

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may process technical logs (IP address, user agent, URL) for security, routing, and abuse prevention.

4. How we use information

  • To run the calculators and remember your last units on this device
  • To understand which tools people use so we can fix and improve them
  • To display ads that keep the site free

We do not sell personal information. We do not use calculator inputs for AI training.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Torquely uses first-party preference cookies and third-party analytics/advertising cookies. The site does not treat the browser “Do Not Track” signal as a separate opt-out; use the controls below instead.

Each row’s policy URL is listed so you can read the processor’s own terms. Opening those links leaves Torquely.

7. Data retention

  • Calculator inputs: only in your browser cookies until they expire or you clear them — not stored in a Torquely database.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 default retention (typically 14 months unless we change it in the GA property).
  • Server/CDN logs: retained by Cloudflare according to their product defaults for security and operations.

8. Your rights

Australia (Privacy Act): this site does not run accounts. Personal information we might otherwise hold is limited to technical logs at the host and analytics/advertising cookies in your browser. You can clear those cookies at any time.

EEA/UK (GDPR): you may object to analytics and ads cookies via your browser settings, the Google Analytics opt-out, and Google Ads Settings. Legal bases we rely on are legitimate interests (running a free site, security, analytics) and consent where required for non-essential advertising cookies. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information. Torquely does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined for “do not sell.” Because we do not run accounts, we typically hold no customer profile. Clear this site’s cookies to remove first-party preference data on your device.

9. International transfers

The site is served globally via Cloudflare. Google Analytics and AdSense process data in the United States and other countries. Data may transit other regions as part of ordinary internet routing. Google uses Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards described in its privacy policy.

10. Children

Torquely is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has used the site, any first-party preference cookies can be cleared in the browser.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. There are no passwords to leak because there are no accounts. No payment data is stored. If we become aware of a breach affecting personal information we hold (for example a hosting-log incident), we will notify affected people and regulators as required by law.

12. Changes

Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
